Ethel Louise DeBuhr was born May 9, 1923, at Shible Township, Swift County, to Carl and Augusta (Schmidt) Ehrenberg. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shible Township. Ethel attended rural District #42 and graduated from Appleton High School in 1941.After graduation she worked at various jobs including the Candy Kitchen, café, bakery, the variety store, and the canning factory. On April 29, 1945 she married Herman DeBuhr of Correll and moved to the farm near Correll. Three children were born to their marriage, Kenneth, Sharon, and Gayle. Ethel was an immaculate homemaker, and loved gardening, sewing, and helping on the farm.Ethel died on Wednesday morning, July 28th, at her daughter Sharon's home. She had attained 87 years, 2 months, and 19 days of age.She is survived by her husband, Herman, of Appleton; three children: Kenneth (Carol) DeBuhr of Correll, Sharon (Bruce) Schmidt of Appleton, and Gayle (Brad) Harris of Phoenix, AZ; two grandsons: Steve (Stephanie) DeBuhr and Bradley Harris; great-grandson, Jacob DeBuhr; two brothers: Carl Ehrenberg of Appleton, and Kermit (Marion) Ehrenberg of Appleton; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mildred Meffert; and five brothers: Gerhard, Albert, Roy, Donald, and Ronald Ehrenberg.
