Dorothy Clara McTighe was born at Appleton on September 2, 1946, to Fredrick C. and Doris M. (Allpress) Jahn. She was baptized October 13, 1946, by Fr. T. D. Szymanski and confirmed on June 6, 1956, by Archbishop John Murry both at St. John's Catholic Church. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1964 and then attended beauty school in Minneapolis.On September 17, 1970, she married Patrick William McTighe, Jr., at St. Paul. Dorothy worked various jobs before becoming employed at the Appleton Municipal Hospital where she worked in the front office as bookkeeper for 20 years.She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Appleton Ceramics Club. She enjoyed her siblings, family, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed painting ceramics, sewing of all types, reading novels, baking, canning, cooking, and was a fan of collegiate sports and Vikings football. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, and loyal friend to many. She shared a close and loving relationship with her nephew, Kelly McTighe, of St. Paul. She donated her creative talents to numerous organizations.Dorothy died on Saturday evening, August 21st, at Appleton Area Health Services after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She had attained 63 years, 11 months, and 19 days of age.She is survived by her husband, Pat; daughter, Michelle McTighe of Appleton and her family Mark, and daughters Chantae, Shannon, and Sheridan; son Patrick "Joey" McTighe of Casa Grande, AZ, and his family Starr and sons Jeffrey, Dillon, and Patrick IV; brothers David (June) Jahn of King George, VA and Rick (Barb) Jahn of Bellingham; sisters: Susan (Mike) Hoban of St. Louis Park, Sandra (Bob) McMahon of Odessa, Nancy (David) Koosman of Cloverdale, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Liz McTighe, of Appleton; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Doris Jahn; infant brother, Ronnie; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Patrick and Elsie McTighe, Sr.
