Adelyn Rime

Rime, Adelyn age 88 of New Brighton, formerly of Columbia Heights passed away on October 29, 2020. Preceded in death by husband Kenneth, son Kim, daughter Victoria.  Parents Henry and Helen Lagred and brother Harley.

Adelyn is survived by sons, Paul (Joan) and Mark (Conny), Grandchildren; Kevin, Matthew, Angela, Christopher, Laura, Allison, Shannen, Cory, Abby and Nicole. Great grandchildren; Keegan, Khryssandra, Gregory, Madison, Henry, Beckett, Oliver, Kaitlyn, Emerson and Madelyn. In-laws; Pam Rime, Bruce Volk.

Adelyn was born at their family home on the farm in Swift County on November 28, 1931. She graduated from high school in 1949 and attended rural teaching school, graduating in 1950.  Adelyn continued her education and earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota.  Adelyn spent 35 years as an educator teaching at the country school before spending many years at Osseo Garden City Elementary in Brooklyn Center.  Adelyn married Kenneth Rime in 1952 after they met on a blind date. Ken and Adelyn lived in Swift Falls and De Graff before moving to Columbia Heights. They were married 54 years before Ken passed away after a long illness. Adelyn loved camping with Paul, Mark, Kim and Vicki and continued to travel and R.V. with Ken after retirement. Ken and Adelyn kept busy with crafts and loved spending time with the grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 10:30 am, at Rolling Forks Cemetery, rural Swift Falls, Minnesota.
