Ardis Schwartz

Ardis Schwartz, age 82, of Appleton, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery. Pastor Linda Wimmer will officiate.

Ardis June Schwartz was born June 3, 1941, in Holloway, Minnesota, to Carl and Stella (Mulvihill) Giese. She grew up on the family farm north of Appleton and attended Country School and Appleton High School. January 16, 1960, Ardis was united in marriage to Marlow Martin Schwartz at the Baptist Church in Appleton. She worked at Hoffman Fishnet, the Appleton Nursing Home, and Pioneer TV.

Ardis had many interests. She enjoyed quilting, crafting, sewing, cooking and baking. She was a member of the Homemakers’ Club, the Quilting Club, was a 4-H Leader, and taught Sunday School.

Ardis is survived by her husband Marlow Schwartz, children: Steven (Dianne) Schwartz of Parkers Prairie, Craig (Loyla) Schwartz of LeMars, IA, Darrell Schwartz of Appleton, Martin (Julie) Schwartz of Northfield; daughter-in-law Missie (Jagow) Schwartz; grandchildren: Anthony (Emily), Jeremy, Veronica, Jonathon, Caty (Will), Amanda, Craig II, Brenton, Carl, and Cora; great-grandchildren: Conrad, Quinn, and Kiera; sisters: Jackie Maas of Odessa and Vivian Huntington of Foley; sisters-in-law: Elaine (Warren) Rau of Appleton, Arlene Schwarz of Hutchinson, and Gloria Giese of Benson; brothers-in-law: Harvey (Gwen) Schwarz of Grove City and Norman (Marlys) Schwarz of Appleton.

Preceding Ardis in death were her parents Carl and Stella (Mulvihill) Giese, parents-in-law Martin and Leona (Bartz) Schwarz, son Bradley Schwartz, daughter Janine Schwartz, grandson Patrick Schwartz, sister Eleanor and her husband Don Boettcher, brothers: Charles Giese, Gerald (Junyce) Giese, and Richard Giese; sister-in-law Eunice and husband Harold Hanson, brothers-in-law Gerald Huntington, Alvin Maas, and Warren Schwarz, nephews: Myron Giese, Wendell Hanson and John Giese, and nieces: Jodi Munsterman and Lori Schwarz.
