Barbara Ann Walton

Barbara Ann Walton passed away May 20, 2022, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center.  Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton.  Pastor Art Wiese will officiate.  Burial will be in Wergeland Cemetery, rural Porter, Minnesota.

Barbara Ann Walton was born May 9, 1941, in Marshall, Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond Luther and Mae Arlene (DeBettiginess) Christianson.  Barb was raised on a farm in the Porter, Minnesota area, where she was baptized and confirmed at Porter Lutheran Church.  She attended grade school in Porter and high school in Canby.

After high school, Barb moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a waitress.  Barb was united in marriage to Kenneth Walton at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church by Pastor Lygre.  Later in life Barb moved to New York City, where she was employed as a Nanny.  She returned to Minnesota where she lived in Buffalo, Willmar, and Appleton.  Barb worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in each of those communities, retiring in Appleton.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Barb passed away May 20, 2022, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center.  She attained the age of 81 years and 11 days of age.  Barb is survived by her siblings: Ruby (Barry) Lokken of Appleton, Betty Chavarria of Appleton, and Edward (Marlene) Christianson of Buffalo; two aunts; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mae Christianson; her husband, Kenneth Walton; her son, Troy Walton in 2000; brothers-in-law: Candelario Chavarria and Carl Weckwerth Jr; and their beloved cat, Cosmo.
