Bonita "Bonnie" Rae Tjosaas

Bonita “Bonnie” Tjosaas, 75, of Appleton, formerly of Benson, MN, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at Appleton Area Health Nursing Home in Appleton, MN. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. Interment will be at a later date at the Six Mile Grove Cemetery in rural Benson, MN

Bonita “Bonnie” Tjosaas was born on October 9, 1946, in Montevideo, MN, the daughter of Gerald and Leona (Barth) Winkelman. Bonnie grew up in Holloway, MN and later graduated from Benson High School in 1965. Bonnie was married to Ronald Tjosaas on October 15, 1966, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, MN, by Father Rooney. Their union was blessed with 40 years of marriage, two children, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She went on to work at Meadow Lane Nursing Home for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, feeding the birds and cats, walking her dog and camping. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening and collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia.

She is survived by her children: Tammy (Pat) Geyer of Appleton, MN; Todd (special friend Christi Mogler) Tjosaas of Danvers, MN.  Grandchildren: Brittany, Nichlos, Destiny, and April. 9 Great-grandchildren. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Leona Winkelman; and her beloved husband Ronald Tjosaas in 2007. Blessed be the memory of Bonita “Bonnie” Rae Tjosaas.
