Brenda Jones, 66, of Benson, Minnesota, died on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital, in Glenwood, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church in Kerkhoven, Minnesota, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm. A reception will be held immediately following the funeral service. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements. Brenda Jean Jones was born on April 10, 1956, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Richard and Viola Hess Sulier. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. She grew up in Benson and attended Benson Schools. On December 21, 1974, Brenda was united in marriage to Donald Jones Sr. in Louisville, Kentucky by the Rev. Raymond Mc Donald. This union was blessed with over 48 years of marriage. They lived at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where Donald served in the United States Marines. They moved to Benson, Minnesota in 1993.
Brenda was a homemaker, and it was with a great passion that she went about raising her children and grandchildren. She put her love of cooking and baking to good use and served as head cook at Northside Elementary School in Benson. She enjoyed playing BINGO! sewing, puzzles, and thrift shopping. She was a longtime member of the Benson V.F.W. post 1403 Women’s Auxiliary. Brenda was called from this life on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the Glenwood Hospital. She attained the age of 66 years, 7 months, and 14 days of age.
Brenda is survived by her husband Don Sr. of Benson; her children, Donnie Jr. (Jessica) Jones, Cory (Sally) Jones, Michelle (Jamie) Abner, and Pam Jones, all of Benson; grandchildren Spencer, Brendan, Kelsey, Nicholas, Jordan, Molly, Eli, Meghan, Mason, Brielle, Preston, and Halle; great grandchildren, Dawson, and two on the way; her Best Friend Sheila Hanson, of Benson; her siblings, Marlene (Ramon) Castillo of Willmar, Richard (Lynette) Sulier of Benson, Delphine (Tony) Hargreaves of New London, Debra Peterson of Benson, Peggy (Juan) Mejia of Benson, and David Sulier of Willmar; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents. Richard and Viola, an infant in 1983, and sisters, Diane Ascheman, Connie Sulier, and Tammy Sulier. Blessed be her memory.
