Brian Eugene Hanson

Brian Eugene Hanson was born December 19, 1955, the son of Chester C. and LaVina (Kvam) Hanson in Benson, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at West Bank Lutheran Church.

Brian grew up in Swenoda Township and Danvers, Minnesota. He attended school in Benson, graduating from Benson High School with the Class of 1973. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.

After college, Brian dedicated his career to public service as a probation and parole officer, retiring after 35 years of service.

Outside of work, Brian had many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, sports, playing scrabble and spending time at the cabin.

Brian died at his home in Benson, Minnesota, on Thursday, May 15, 2025. He was 69 years old. He is survived by his daughter Cassandra Neuhaus (Erica McQuiddy) of Bixby, OK; two grandchildren Corissa Gades and Nova McQuiddy-Neuhaus; three great-grandchildren: Lukis Gades, Milo Gades, and Lita Gades; siblings: Roger (Henni) Hanson of Alexandria, MN, Curt (Linda) Hanson of Blaine, MN, Linda Hanson of Benson, MN, and Kari (Jeff) Larson of Balsam Lake, WI. Brian was preceded in death by his son Luke Hanson, his mother LaVina Hanson, his father Chester Hanson, and his sister Sandra Erenberg.
