Carol Dean Ascheman

December 8, 1934 — October 9, 2022

Carol Dean Ascheman, our precious Mother, Grams and Great Grams went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2022. Carol was born in Arkansas to George and Mary Spangler on December 8 th , 1934.  On April 5 th , 1952, Carol married Jim Ascheman in Ft. Smith Arkansas and several years later moved to Clontarf where they raised their family.  They were married 62 years before Jim was called to heaven in 2014.  They were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Carol devoted her entire life to her family.  Although she was small in stature her little body housed the most gigantic heart.  To know her was to love her beyond measure. Carol’s faith was strong, and she lived to teach her children and grandchildren to love our Heavenly Father and to place our hope in our Savior Jesus Christ. We are forever grateful for her instilling in all of us that Jesus is always with us every step of our earthly journey until we too are called home.

Carol has been reunited with loved ones: her beloved husband Jim Ascheman, loving parents George and Mary Spangler; treasured siblings Eugene Spangler, Eula Mae McDaniel, Velma Cristee and Don Spangler and many other family members and friends.   Carol is survived by her adoring children Gary (Sheila) Ascheman of Willmar; Sonia (Pete) Batinich of Maple Grove and Karen (Mark) Bertram of Foxhome. Most special Grandchildren Landon (Mara) Ascheman; Bethany (Nate) Hardy; Matt (Hannah) Batinich; Nick Batinich; Amanda (Jonathan) Kekko; Kimberley Bertram; and Michael Bertram. Sweetest Great Grandchildren Whiley and Wren Hardy; Julian and Madeline Ascheman; and Camden and Grayson Batinich.  Her grandchildren truly believe their Grams hung the moon and stars and placed the sun in His heavens.

Carol’s family was blessed mightily when God gave Carol to them.  Carol’s work is done and now her family prays for God’s angels to bring her to her eternal heavenly home where one day we will all be reunited.  Jesus said: “I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me shall live even though they die."  John 11:25. We hold steadfast to Jesus’ wonderful promise.

Our family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support during this difficult time. The immediate family will have a Private Celebration of Life. Memorial donations for the Cure of Parkinson’s disease are preferred in lieu of flowers and can be made to: https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate.
