Carol A. Simmel passed away on Friday morning, November 4, 2022 in Rosemount, Minnesota. Visitation will be held form 11:00 am to 12:00 p, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson. A private family interment will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Murdock, Minnesota.
Carol Ann (Larson) Simmel was born April 27, 1939 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Harold and Veronica Larson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith and graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul, MN in 1957.
She was a mother to her daughter, Denise and her son Joseph Jr. She was a homemaker until her children were grown and then she went into the work force. She waitressed at Mickey’s Restaurant and worked her way up to Manager which she did for many years. As she got older, she decided she didn’t need all the responsibilities of a manager and took a position of waitress at the St. Clair Broiler until her retirement.
In Carol’s early years, her passions included going to Las Vegas, playing cards with friends, puzzles, reading and bowling. Carol was an excellent bowler and had the trophies to prove that along with being selected as a contestant on the 60’s TV show called “Bowling for Dollars”.
She enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She resided with her daughter, Denise and granddaughter Jolene who took exceptional care of her during her last 18 months.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Denise Simmel, her loving grandchildren, Jolene Polster, Frank (Karla) Pokriefka and their children Levi and Riley and Julie (John Kiser) Pokriefka and their children, Kayden and Jayce.
