David Beyer, age 82 of Morris, formerly of the Holloway area, died Saturday, October 10, 2020, in Courage Cottage, Morris, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 15, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Morris. Pastor Michael Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Moyer Township.
David Leander Beyer was born November 13, 1937, on the family farm in Fairfield Township, Swift County, Minnesota to parents Carl and Ella (Quandt) Beyer. He attended country school, District #48 through the eighth grade. David then attended the Ag School in Morris, where he graduated in 1955. On May 27, 1977, he was united in marriage to Gladys Bahl at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Moyer Township. This union was blessed with over 43 years together. The couple lived on David’s home farm where he farmed his entire life. David enjoyed bowling and fishing. He was an avid reader from his youth until his last days. David had a broad variety of knowledge and had a knack for sharing it.
David passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Courage Cottage in Morris. He attained 82 years, 10 months, and 27 days of age. David is survived by his wife, Gladys Beyer of Morris; son, Randy (Elizabeth) Beyer of Holloway; step-children: Shawn (Jill) Swenson of Appleton, Sherry (Jesse) Helleksen of Lake Crystal, Brad (Patti) Swenson of Milbank, and Monica Baron of Appleton; eight grandchildren: Quinn Swenson, Courtney Swenson, Adrianne (Alex) Aeikens, Shelby Beyer, Montana Swenson, Cole Swenson, Mason Baron, and Jarod Baron; two great-grandchildren: Aiden and Lilly; sisters-in-law: Arlene Beyer of Benson and Gail (Arlyn) Schellberg of Madison; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ella Beyer; and his siblings: Louise, Martha, Walter, Marvin, Dorethea, and Carl.
