Deloris Roggatz, age 88, of Appleton, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020, in Appleton Area Health-Hospital. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Pastor Roger Fears will officiate. Burial will be in Appleton City Cemetery. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
Deloris Irene Roggatz was born March 8, 1932, at home, in Kragero Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Johnson) Hendrickson. Deloris was baptized and confirmed at the Watson Lutheran Church. She was raised in the Montevideo area and attended Montevideo High School, where she graduated, Class of 1950. On May 4, 1952 Deloris was united in marriage to Hugo “Bob” Roggatz at the Watson Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with over 68 years together and four children: Mike, Kevin, Brian, and Heidi.
During her working years Deloris was employed by Myhre-Nelson Implement and the Montevideo School District. She was also a long-time clerk for Brown & Baker Auction. Later in her career, she and Bob owned and operated Appleton Equipment. Deloris was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she participated in ladies Aid and Bible Study. She was also involved with the Western Prairie Farm Machinery Collectors. Deloris enjoyed attending church functions, dancing, baking, and growing flowers. More than anything, she loved to support her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all that they did.
Deloris passed away Friday, November 20, 2020, in Appleton Area Health-Hospital. She attained 88 years, 8 months, and 12 days of age. Deloris is survived by her husband, Hugo “Bob” Roggatz of Appleton; children: Mike (Karen) Roggatz of Appleton, Kevin (Julie) Roggatz of Sioux Falls, SD, Brian Roggatz of Appleton, and Heidi (Dan) Tosel of Appleton; 11 grandchildren: Josh (Heather) Roggatz, Jordan (Kim) Roggatz, Jeni (Clay) Staples, Cody Roggatz, Jessi (Brady) Skoglund, Calie (Jordan) Dalton, Kelsey Rutland, Sarah Roggatz, Tronn (Alyssa) Tosel, Tianna (Riley) Burgstahler, and Taniah Tosel; 21 great-grandchildren: Brok, Carter, Hallee, Faith, Bella, Kadence, Naveah, Bentley, Hilary, Dane, Emersyn, Jayda, Jameson, Devin, Kassidee, Addie, Briar, Quincy, Maycie, Milo, and Otto; siblings: Alton (Helen) Hendrickson of Montevideo, Edith Hendrickson of Montevideo, and Roger (MaryAnn) Hendrickson of South Haven; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Sarah Hendrickson; her sister, Helen Johnson; and her brothers: James, Sheldon, and Lloyd Hendrickson.
