Demoine Curnel Rood

Demoine Curnel Rood was born on December 26, 1934 in Belgrade, Minnesota, the son of Elmer G. and Clara M. (Ellingson) Rood. He was baptized and confirmed at East Norway Lake Lutheran Church. He grew up in the Sunburg, Minnesota area and attended District #10 country School.

Demoine worked as a truck driver and farmer. He was a member of the Monson Lake Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, walking, and visiting with his friends. He loved his vehicle and helping others, especially the farmers. He was called from this life on Wednesday morning, November 20, 2019 at the Belgrade Nursing Home. He attained the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

Demoine is survived by his four sisters Jenny Jacobson, Donna King (special friend Don Stuhr), Hazel Thonvold, and Linda (Harlan) Peters; his brother Leslie (Rev. Katherine) Rood; a sister-in-law Linda Rood; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Clara; brothers Elmo and Glenn; brothers-in-law Robert King, Bruce Thonvold, and Howard Jacobson, a sister-in-law Mary Rood, a nephew Rick Thonvold, and family friend Floyd Swanberg. Blessed be his memory.
