Diann L. Solomon

Diann L. Solomon, 69, of Benson, Minn., died Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Swift County Benson Health Services. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17 from 10 am to 11 am, followed by the funeral service at 11 am, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment will be  in The Benson City Cemetery.

Diann Louise (Robertson) Solomon was born April 19, 1950 in Pierce, Nebraska, the daughter of Ovlee and Margaret Helena (Rode) Robertson. She was baptized May 7, 1950 by Rev. M.F. Scheips and confirmed in 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce. She grew up and attended school in Pierce and Antelope County near Neligh. On June 7, 1969, Diann was united in marriage to Jackie Allen Solomon, Sr. in the Watertown, South Dakota court house. This union was blessed with more than 37 years of marriage. They lived in the Twin Cities area; Alvarado, Texas; Farmington, Minnesota; and Benson.

Through the years, Diann was a waitress in Cleburne, Texas, and Dawson Food Service and Distinctive Catering MGMT inc. both in Farmington, Minnesota. She worked at Sandy’s Café and Swift County Human Services, both in Benson, and many years of babysitting her grandchildren.

Diann was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, listening to the oldies station on the radio, and spending as much time with family as possible. She loved talking on the phone, especially to family as far away as Texas and Michigan, and you can’t forget her favorite cousin Patsy. Diann loved having a full house, from her children’s friends throughout the years and then the grandchildren and most of the kids from the neighborhood.

Diann passed Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Swift County Benson Health Services. She attained the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 15 days. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Robertson; children: Jackie A. (Joy Nicholson) Solomon, Jr. of Benson, Tanja (James) Jensen of DeGraff, and John Solomon of Benson; grandchildren: Jonathan Jensen, Anna Jensen, Ryan (Morgan Tangen) Jensen, Tyler (Rachel Tohal) Solomon, Brock (Larrisa Weldon) Solomon, Ethen Solomon, Brody Solomon, and Hunter Solomon; great-grandchildren: Cooper Jensen, Remmi Jensen, and Izabella Solomon, nieces and nephew: Jodi Jones, Michael Malmon, Corey Rode, and Nikki Rode; great-nieces and nephew: Brianah Rode, Madisen Rode, and Aiden Rode; and brother, Dion Rode.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie SR. on January 7, 2007; infant daughters, Tracy and Theresa; father, Ovlee Robertson; sister-in-law, Andrea Rode; and many Aunts and Uncles.
