Dianne VanBriesen, age 76, of Appleton, passed away Friday evening at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. Visitation will be Noon-1 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Pastor John Ramsbacher will officiate. Burial will be in Appleton City Cemetery.
Dianne Lynn VanBriesen was born October 28, 1945, in Milbank, South Dakota, the daughter of Joseph V. and Della A. (Kunter) Weeding. Dianne was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Milbank by Rev. Wessier on December 2, 1945, and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, Minnesota, by Rev. Meissner on May 17, 1959. Dianne attended Appleton High School where she graduated, Class of 1963. On December 26, 1964, Dianne was united in marriage to Gerald VanBriesen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. The couple was blessed with over 31 years together and two children: Scot and Marcie.
Over the years Dianne worked a variety of jobs in the Appleton area including: The Appleton Meat Center, Prairie Correctional Facility, Don’s Food Pride, and The House of Spirits. Dianne operated an in-home daycare for many years, which she greatly enjoyed! She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club. Dianne liked to read, work on puzzle books, go snowmobiling, watch Elvis movies, and spend time with her family and her Schnauzer’s.
Dianne passed away November 5, 2021, at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. She attained 76 years and 7 days of age. Dianne is survived by her children: Scot (Shari) VanBriesen of Appleton, and Marcie Radtke of Watson; her 3 grandchildren: AJ (Katie) Marganelli, Connor VanBriesen (fiancé, Laura), and Kassidy VanBriesen; her 2 great-grandchildren: Leo and Marcella Marganelli; her brother, Donald Weeding of Fridley; her sister-in-law, Irene Weeding of Appleton; her brother-in-law, Merlyn “Ike” VanBriesen of Cold Spring; her 3 sisters-in-law; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald VanBriesen in 1996; her parents, Joseph and Della Weeding; her parents-in-law, George and Marian VanBriesen; her brother, Richard Weeding; and a niece, Lisa Weeding.
