Donna Marie Fath, 87, of Benson, died on Sunday morning, March 27, 2022, at the Glen Oaks Senior Living Center in New London, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, MN, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery in DeGraff, MN.
Donna Marie Fath was born January 4, 1935, at the family home in DeGraff, MN, the daughter of John and Adeline (Goulet) Klassen. She was baptized at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff by Rev. P.J. Lucey on January 6, 1935, and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson by the Most Rev. James Byrne on April 28, 1948. Donna grew up in Minneapolis and the DeGraff area, where she attended school and graduated from the Benson High School. Donna was united in marriage to Joseph Francis Fath on November 26, 1955, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson by Rev. Russell E. Doerrer. This union was blessed with more than 66 years of marriage and five children. Donna worked for Breen’s Drug Store, the local meat market before she was married and helped on the family farm. They lived on the Fath family farm by DeGraff before moving to Benson in 2008. She was involved in the DeGraff Altar & Rosary Society, a church usher at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, local Bible Study, taught Catechism for many years and helped with liturgical services at Meadow Lane Nursing Home. Her hobbies and interests include crocheting, embroidery, baking and cooking. Donna loved her Root Beer Floats!
Donna is survived by her husband: Joseph Fath; her children: Linda (George) Wall of Glenwood, MN, Jim (Deb) Fath of Glenwood, MN, Mike (Sheila) Fath of St. Cloud, FL, and Teresa (Scott) Lamecker of Kerkhoven, MN; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother: Tom Klassen of Los Angeles, CA; and sister-in-law: Kathy Klassen, DeGraff, MN.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents: John and Adeline Klassen; son: Bill Fath; brother: Dale Klassen; brother and sister in-law: Leonard and Sheryl Klassen; grandson: Derek Fath; great-grandson: Arthur Lamecker; uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives. “Blessed be her memory”
