Dorinda Lea Popma

Dorinda Lea Popma, 76, of Benson, MN passed away on Thursday, November 19 ^th , 2020 at Swift County-Benson Hospital. A private family service and interment will be held at Bethany Reformed Cemetery in Clara City, MN.

Dorinda Lea Popma was born October 5, 1944 in Montevideo, MN to John T. and Martha (Caspers) Koenen. She grew up in Clara City and was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Reformed Church. She attended and graduated from the Clara City High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Lyle L. Popma April 2, 1963. They first made their home in St. Cloud, MN where Lyle attended school. Over the years Dorinda and Lyle had lived in many areas throughout Minnesota.

Dorinda enjoyed being a Mom and truly enjoyed her grandchildren. She volunteered at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Benson and her hobbies included needle point and crocheting.

Surviving are her husband: Lyle Popma of Benson, MN; her children: Thomas Popma of St. Cloud, MN, Kressin (Michael) Krause of Chanhassen, MN and Terry (Jeri) Popma of Dawson, MN; six grandchildren: Thomas, McKenna, Jack and Peyton Krause and Easton and Jalynn Popma; one brother: James (Audrey) Koenen of Clara City, MN.

Dorinda was preceded in death by her parents: John T. and Martha Koenen and one brother: John Koenen, Jr.
