Doris F. Wiebold was born March 7, 1938, the daughter of Edward and Myrtis (Hals) Johnson in Sunburg, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and Our Savior’s Lutheran in Benson. She grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1956.
On October 27, 1956, Doris was united in marriage to Alvie L. Wiebold at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church by Rev. Nashiem. This union was blessed with more than 46 years of marriage, 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church and served in WELCA for many years and was a member of Benson VFW Post #1403 Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, having and going to garage sales, beating the grandkids in checkers, and her frequent coffee parties and trips to the bakery. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time at the family cabin (Black Bear Lodge). Most precious to Doris were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved spending time with.
