Elaine Lavon (Suess) Miller was born on December 26, 1926 in Wabasso, MN to Veronica (Stadick) and Anton Suess. Elaine received her education in Wabasso, MN. On September 2, 1946, Elaine was united in marriage to Glen Miller.  After their marriage, Elaine and Glen farmed in Morgan, MN for 2 years. They then moved to the Benson/ DeGraff area where they farmed until Glen passed away in 1978.  Elaine worked alongside Glen on the farm, while raising eight children together.

After Glen passed away, Elaine moved to Benson, where she spent much of her time watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elaine loved quilting.   She made sure she had a quilt ready for every new addition to her family. She spent many hours making quilts for every one of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, a keepsake her family will cherish forever.

Elaine looked forward to family holidays and get together where many hours were spent playing Squeak, Farkle and bingo. Elaine loved watching the Minnesota Twins and game shows on TV. She loved getting together with her sisters, traveling to other states to visit family.  One of Elaine's favorite past times was putting puzzles together.  You could always find a partially completed puzzle on the table. She invited everyone that came over to join her in completing it. One of the families’ fondest memories is teasing Elaine about the many hours spent on the dreaded pickle machine from their years on the farm.

Elaine was called from this life on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the age of 94.  She is survived by eight children, Judy Tollefson of Benson;  Steven (Linda) Miller of Benson; David (Darlene) Miller of Avoca;  Sandra (Richard) Lansverk of Benson; Randy (Bridget) Miller of Big Lake; Timothy Miller of Benson; Darren (Heather) Miller of Kerkhoven; and LeAnn (Kevin) Groen of Clara City, 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
