Frances Louise Maanum

May 8, 1921 — November 1, 2019

Frances Louise Maanum was born May 8, 1921 at New York Mills, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter E. and Hazel Marie (Crabb) Johnson. She was baptized October 18, 1921 and confirmed in the Christian Faith. Frances grew up and attended school and graduated from New York Mills High School. In 1942 she moved to Benson, MN where she worked as a book keeper at Farmers Union Insurance and Oil Company in Benson for several years.

On September 24, 1949 Frances was united in marriage to Randall Maanum at Our Saviors Church in Benson by Rev. Harold Nashiem. To this union two sons and one daughter were born. Together Frances and Randall were able to share in forty-eight years of marriage.

They lived on Randall’s home place and moved to Benson in 1991. They enjoyed raising their family by going to church and school things for all their children. Faith and family were very important to her. Church was a definite priority. She was a Sunday school teacher, served on the Altar Guild, and Circle at West Zion. Frances enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, gardening, quilting, and yard work.
