James Joseph Overholser was born December 7, 1959, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Richard James and Deloris Loretta (Verbout) Overholser. He was baptized in 1959 and was confirmed in 1967, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Jim was raised in the Twin Cities area, where he attended Centennial High School in Circle Pines. On September 12, 1992, Jim was united in marriage to Kimberley Jo Tamsen in Appleton, Minnesota. This couple was blessed with over 29 years together.
Jim called Appleton home for the last 32 years. He worked as the Plant Manager for ECONAR Energy Systems. Most of his working years were in the area alternative energy, mostly solar and geothermal. Jim liked to attend outdoor Rock & Roll concerts, fishing, hunting, white-water canoeing, and just being out in the woods. He would often take friends and employees to the cabin in Hinckley each spring to canoe in the Snake River. Jim also enjoyed many trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. He was a huge patriot…often thanking those who served for their service. He could be seen on the side of the road of parades and bike rallies with a giant US Flag that he held out proudly! Jim was a long-time member of the Appleton Sportsman’s Club.
