Janet Tucholke, 84, of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, formerly of Appleton, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Zniewski Funeral Home – Vaala Chapel in Appleton, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at the Appleton City Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home - Vaala Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Janet Edna Tucholke was born at home on a farm in Lac qui Parle County, near Appleton, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William and Edna Tucholke. She was baptized September 7, 1941, in Appleton, and confirmed on May 1,1955, at Correll Lutheran Church. In school, Janet attended grades one through eight in Correll and went to high school for grades nine through twelve in Appleton. She went on to further her education, attending LPN Nurses Training in Willmar, Minnesota.

Janet worked in a variety of places. She was employed at St. Cloud Hospital in the ICU and was dubbed a favorite nurse. Janet’s healing hands helped many. After 55 years of caring for others, Janet retired in 2011. Janet was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Janet loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to work in the yard, knit, and color in design books.

Janet truly enjoyed 50+ years of caring for people as a loving and compassionate nurse. She treated her patients as if they were her own family. Janet also enjoyed baking, cleaning and organizing, and dogs. Her dog Abby was pampered alongside her for years.

Janet was called from this life on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her children James (Laurie) Mills and Molly Jo (Jordon) Johnson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Joanne Tucholke; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.Janet was preceded in death by her daughter Julie Ann Tucholke; great-grandson Onyx Ploof; parents William and Edna Tucholke; sisters: Elaine Schwandt, Narvella Ness, and LaVonne Brenseth; brothers: Marlow Tucholke, Wilfred Tucholke, and Delmont Tucholke; brothers-in-law Bruno Schwandt, Pete Wickham, Vernon Ness, and Wyllis Brenseth; and sisters-in-law Christine Tucholke and Mary AnnTucholke.

Janet will be missed and always loved. Her beauty and laughter cannot be replaced. Janet could fix almost anything. Rest Easy. Until we meet again. We love you.
