Kathryn A Radtke

Kathryn A. Radtke, 82, of Appleton, died on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Appleton Hospital. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, Minnesota, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at the Appleton City Cemetery.

Kathryn was born February 23, 1943, in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of Wilbert and Leona (Schirm) Gronholz. She was baptized on April 4, 1943, by Rev. Paul H. T. Gierke at the family farm in Shible Township, Swift County, Minnesota. She was confirmed by Rev. Reuben Meissner on April 14, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, Minnesota. Kathryn grew up in Appleton, Minnesota, and graduated from Appleton High School.

On May 11, 1963, Kathryn was united in marriage to Gerald J. Radtke by Rev. Paul Priez at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. This union was blessed with over 57 years together and four children: Dawn, James, Gary, and Becky.

Kathryn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, where she helped with Ladies Aid, LWLM, taught Sunday School, and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Bowling League in Appleton, and enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, and watching sports.

Kathryn was called from this life on Sunday afternoon, April 6, 2025, at the Appleton Hospital. She attained the age of 82 years, one month, and 14 days of age. She is survived by her children: Dawn Radtke of Morris, James (Sheila) Radtke of Elbow Lake, Gary Radtke of Nelson, and Becky (Steven) Christie of Mocksville, NC; ten grandchildren: Megan Glimsdal, Jeremy Radtke, Courtney Christie, Jacob Radtke, Leah Glimsdal, Ashley Radtke, MaKayla Radtke, Garek Radtke, Ethan Christie, and Kayla Benson; nine great-grandchildren: Erick Sperr, Samantha Glimsdal, Ava Dahle, Logan Shelton, Leif Dahle, Connor Shelton, Landon Viemester, Natalie Dumpprope, and Emma Dumpprope; sister Debbie (JC) Smith of Sarasota, FL; brother David (Marlene) Gronholz of Appleton; brother-in-law Mike Brustuen of Litchfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Radtke on September 19, 2020, parents Wilbert and Leona Gronholz, and brother Dennis Gronholz.
