Kevin Gene Meier

Kevin Meier, 51, of Murdock, Minnesota, died on Monday evening, August 8, 2022, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock, and will continue form 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday August 13, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and plants memorials preferred to donor’s charity of choice. Zniewski Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Kevin Gene Meier was born on October 25, 1970, in Benson, Minnesota the son of James and Betty Jean Riedlinger Meier. He was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. He grew up in Murdock and graduated from KMS high School, then attended the University of Minnesota Waseca where he earned an Associate degree in Applied Science. Kevin worked at local golf courses until he changed career paths and began driving truck for Benson Gravel and Timmons Trucking.

Kevin was a member of the Murdock Fire Department, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, was a Red Cross blood donor, and he served on the Murdock City Council. He enjoyed golfing and he truly believed in the theory: "One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” Kevin loved spending time with his family, and he took great pride in being Uncle Kevin to his nieces. In 2018 Kevin was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia and on Monday evening , August 8, 2022, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar, he was called from this life. He attained the age of 51 years, 9 months, and 10 days.

Kevin is survived by his father, James of Murdock; brother Daren (Lisa) Meier of Faribault, twin brother, Todd (Brenda) Meier of Ham Lake; nieces Kelsey, Allison, Jaclyn, and Lauren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Betty in 2017, his grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Blessed be his memory.
