Kim Michael Gades

Kim Michael Gades, 69, of Benson, died Friday, February 20, 2026, at his home at Park View Manor in Benson, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Benson City Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with arrangements.

Kim was born on October 28, 1956, to William and Irene Gades in Benson, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm near Danvers. He began his schooling at country school and graduated from Benson High School. Not long after high school, Kim married Jean Feda and they had 3 children together: Kristopher, Candace, and Carolyn.

Kim began his career working on the family farm, and in the winter months worked at LorAl. He then had a long welding career at Northern Factory Sales in Willmar, Minnesota. In his later years, Kim had the opportunity to work with his son at RDO Equipment in Hawley, Minnesota. Throughout his life, Kim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and talking with Kris about John Deeres and farming. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Kim was a simple man, with an overall quiet demeanor and a bit of Gades spitfire at times, but when he got to know you, he would find the opportunity to tease you.

Kim Michael Gades passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2026, at the age of 69.Kim is survived by his children: Kristopher (Erin) Gades, Candace (Trevor) Ell, and Carolyn Gades Shannon; grandchildren: Quinn and Chloe Gades, Libby and Zoey Ell, Parker (Hailey) Sherbrooke, Carly Dormanen, and Amelia Shannon; two great-grandchildren Josilee and Stetson Sherbrooke, and one on the way; siblings Kevin, Curt, and Kendall Gades, Rhonda (Tim) Osterman, Stacie Gades, and many nieces and nephews.

Kim was proceeded in death by his parents William and Irene Gades, niece Kelly Gades, and sister-in-law Bonnie Gades.
