Lance Lee Lokken

Lance Lokken, age 72 of Milan, formerly of Appleton, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in his home.  Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2021, at Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.  Pastor Herbert Rotunda will officiate.  Burial will be in Appleton City Cemetery.

Lance Lee Lokken was born November 16, 1948, in Appleton, Minnesota, the son of Arnold and Marjorie (Robbins) Lokken.  He was baptized May 24, 1949, at First United Methodist Church in Appleton.  Lance was raised in Appleton, where he graduated from Appleton High School, Class of 1966.  He was proud to have served in the Minnesota National Guard for over 20 years.

During his working years Lance was employed as a welder, where he manufactured agricultural equipment components.  After retirement, he moved to Milan, where he lived with his beloved dogs and cats.  Lance enjoyed collecting antiques, guns and knives.  He could also be a “talker” and would “talk your ear off!”  Lance liked to work in his garden, ride motorcycle, make his famous potato salad, cook and grill, and hang out with his best friend, Kirk.  He especially loved to take his grandson's fishing.

Lance passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in his home.  He attained 72 years, 9 months, and 9 days of age.  Lance is survived by his children: Phil Lokken of Detroit Lakes, Amy (Chad Lawson) Lokken of Nisland, SD, and Steve (Alicia) Lokken of Detroit Lakes; eight grandchildren: Dylan Lokken, Brendan Lokken, Joél Lokken, Vance Lokken, Michael Lawson, Lauren Lokken, Charlee Lokken, Mackenzie Lokken; three great-grandchildren: Carson, Dylan, and Scarlett; siblings: Barry (Ruby) Lokken of Appleton, Robin (Wally) Welander of Phoenix, AZ, and Carter Lokken of Watson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie in 1992; and his parents, Arnie and Marjorie Lokken.
