LaVerne Hamann, age 87, of Appleton, passed away October 4, 2022, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center. A private, family service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Holloway.
LaVerne Kathleen Hamann was born May 20, 1935, in Eureka, South Dakota, to parents Andrew and Emma Katherine (Bertsch) Delker. She was raised in Eureka where she graduated from High School. LaVerne then attended Northern College in Aberdeen. On December 27, 1959, LaVerne was united in marriage to Harley Hamann by Rev. Richard Kline, in Aberdeen, South Dakota. This union was blessed with 57 years together and three children: Sheri, Steve, and Robert.
LaVerne loved her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. LaVerne passed away Tuesday morning, October 4, 2022, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center. She attained 87 years, 4 months, and 14 days of age. LaVerne is survived by her children: Sheri (Russell) Gades of Danvers and Steve (Sherry) Hamann of Holloway; 6 grandchildren: Alycia (Rob) Flannigan, Nathan Gades, Tyler (Patti) Meyenburg, Lacy Meyenburg, Brittany (Chance) Carlson, and Presley (Kyle) Whitaker; 5 great-grandchildren: Luke Meyenburg, Kenlee Carlson, Kason Carlson, Oakley Whitaker, and Mesa Whitaker; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Hamann in 2017; her parents, Andrew and Emma Delker; her son, Robert Hamann; and her brother, Harry Delker.
