Lenora Augusta Martha Holt, 94, of rural Murdock, Minn., died Sunday, October 20, 2019, at her home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2019 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2019, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Monson Lake Lutheran Cemetery.
Lenora Augusta Holt was born August 2, 1925, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Niemeier) Fischer. She was baptized August 16, 1925 and confirmed March 17, 1940 at South Branch Lutheran Church. She completed the 8th grade at South Branch Lutheran School. Lenora grew up in South Branch and St. James, Minnesota. She worked at the St. James Hardware store until her marriage to Frank.
On June 12, 1955, Lenora was united in marriage to Frank M. Holt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. After marriage, they moved to Minneapolis and Lenora worked at Sears until they started their family. In 1968 they purchased the family farm west of Sunburg and it became their permanent home for over 50 years. Lenora enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, sewing, and made many quilts for family and missions. She loved being outdoors and raising chickens.
Lenora was called from this life on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at her home. She attained the age of 94 years, 2 months, and 18 days. She is survived by her children: Marilyn (Dale) Larson of Pennock, Ramona (James) Just of Kerkhoven, Joanne (Shawn) Kujawa of Spicer, Dennis (Lori) Holt of Murdock and David (Cathy) Holt of Murdock; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Holt on December 17, 2016; son Ronald Holt at 14 months; parents Emil and Mary Fischer; and siblings Clarence Fischer, Arno Fischer and Edna Krumrei. Blessed be the memory of Lenora Holt.
