Leona Lorren Ostenso

Leona Lorren Ostenso, 92, of Benson, Minn., died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at GlenOaks Senior Living Center in New London, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson, Minnesota. Interment will be in Benson City Cemetery.

Leona Lorren Ostenso was born December 18, 1932, in Clontarf, Minnesota, the daughter of Forrest and Loretta (Burns) Mills. She was baptized at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota. Leona grew up in the Danvers, Minnesota, area and attended school in Clontarf and Benson, graduating from Benson High School.

In 1951, Leona was married in Colorado Springs, Colorado. While living in Benson, she worked at Meadow Lane Nursing Home. She also worked as a nursing assistant at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, Minnesota. Leona loved to dance and sing.

Leona was called from this life on April 17, 2025, at GlenOaks Senior Living Center in New London, Minnesota, at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her son Robert (Lora) Bennett of Gilbert, MN; grandchildren: Emily, David, Dakota, Nathaniel, and Joshua; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister Myrtle Hilleren of Benson. She was preceded in death by her sons Ronald Bennett and Richard Bennett, parents Forrest and Loretta Mills, and brothers Donald Mills and Ronald Mills.
