LeRoy Dokken, age 73, of Appleton, died Sunday, November 15, 2020, in Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Appleton. Fr. Jeremy Kucera will officiate. Burial will be in Appleton City Cemetery.
LeRoy Telford Dokken was born October 21, 1947, the son of Telford and Lois (Anderson) Dokken. He was raised in the Starbuck area, where he attended school. While in high school, LeRoy was involved in F.F.A., which he enjoyed. On June 5, 1971, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Muehlbauer at St. John’s Catholic Church in Appleton, by Fr. Steiner. This union was blessed with over 49 years together and a son, Michael. During his working years, LeRoy was employed by Jennie-O Foods and also worked as a farm-hand for local farmers. LeRoy liked to go hunting and fishing and working in his garden.
LeRoy passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020, in Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. He attained 73 years and 24 days of age. LeRoy is survived by his wife, JoAnn Dokken of Appleton; his son, Michael Dokken of Appleton; his uncle, Marcel (Gloria) Kellner of Benson; his aunts: Olga Anderson of Glenwood and Carol Dokken of Benson; his brothers-in-law: Thomas (Marcellis) Muehlbauer of CO, Ray Muehlbauer of Danvers, Tim (Mary) Muehlbauer of Clara City, Leo Muehlbauer of Danvers, and David Muehlbauer of Benson; his sisters-in-law: Deanne (Dave) Bennett of Newfolden, Gloria Muehlbauer of Benson, and Kathy Muehlbauer of Danvers; and his cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Telford and Lois Dokken; his parents-in-law, Syvester and Marie Muehlbauer; daughter-in-law, Joann “Missy” Dokken; and his uncles: Bill Anderson and Curtis Dokken.
