Linus "Butch" Michael Suess Jr.

Linus “Butch” Michael Suess Jr., 72, died on Sunday March 31, 2024, at the Swift County Benson Hospital in Benson, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, on Monday April 8, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Hector, Minnesota. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson, Minnesota is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Linus Michael Suess Jr. was born at the Brown County Hospital in Springfield, Minnesota, on March 26, 1952, the son of Linus Andrew and Iolanada Alice (Kosel) Suess. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. He grew up in the rural Bird Island and Hector, Minnesota areas. He graduated from Bird Island High School and attended trade school for a time.

On February 2, 1989, he was united in marriage to Julie Kay Miller in Milbank, South Dakota. Together they were able to share in over 35 years of Marriage. Over the years Butch worked for Bird Island Electric Motors, Benson Electric Motors, Richard Miller Farms, and Troy Dunn Farms. Linus drove semi over the road for many years. He also used his skills as a problem solver to repair guns and air conditioners among other things.

Linus loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was interested in car and go cart racing, lawn mowing and snow removal, working on cars, restoring his Corvette with his son Wade, fishing, driving, and John Deere Tractors. Linus loved to spend time with his dog Ares at the dog park and loved all animals. He was called from this life on Sunday, March 31, in Benson Minnesota. He attained the age of 72 years and 5 days of age.

He is survived by his wife Julie of Benson; his children Shannon (Michael) Schemmel of Renville, Shane Suess of Bird Island, Nathan (Sara) Miller of Benson, Bobbie Jo Suess of Lake Lillian, Travis (AnnMarie) Suess of Olivia, Wade Miller of Benson, and Shawn (Joelle) Suess of Hawley; 17 grandchildren, Dustin, Dillon, Jaden, Jasmin, Zach, Chase, Avery, Logan, Lincoln, Presley, Gabriel, Elijah, Caleb, Cali Jo, Chloe, Bryce, and Jase; his 6 great grandchildren, Levi, Sayge, Daxton, Athena, Paizley, and Brantley; his siblings Larry (Judy) Suess of Hutchinson, Monica (Dennis) Collins of Eden Valley, Angie Suess of Willmar, and Mark Suess of Bird Island; his aunts Norma Brau and Diane Doom; and many cousins, friends In-Laws and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents Linus Sr. and Iolanada and his grandparents. Blessed be his memory.
