Lois A. Fennell, 84, of Danvers, died on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at St. Cloud Hospital. Visitation will be held at Church of the Visitation in Danvers on Saturday, July 25, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is in charge of the arrangements.
Lois Arlene Fennell was born on April 27, 1936, in Anoka, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Hazel Warneke Porter. She grew up in Anoka and graduated from Anoka High School. She attended St. Cloud State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education.
Lois was united in marriage to Thomas Joseph Fennell on December 18, 1965 by Father Strie at Christ the King Catholic Church in Minneapolis. This union was blessed with over 43 years of marriage.
Lois taught elementary school for a few years in California and then taught special education for several years at St. Francis Catholic School in Benson. They farmed in the Danvers area. She was a member of 4-H and was very active in Visitation Catholic Church. She served on the Six Mile Grove Township Board, Swift County Historical Society, and the Scofield Place Board. She enjoyed sewing and reading. Lois loved spending time with her family, especially playing games with her grandchildren. She was called from this life on Wednesday afternoon, July 22, 2020, at the St. Cloud Hospital. She attained the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 25 days.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Kelly) Fennell of Yankton, SD, Stephanie (David) Leach of Milroy, and Jason (Michaella) Fennell of Anoka; nine grandchildren, Wyatt Fennell, Deklan Fennell, Nolan Fennell, Brandon Leach, Nathan Leach, Erin Leach, Lauren Leach, Emma Fennell, and Delaney Fennell; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas on April 4, 2009; her parents Charles and Ruth; her brothers, Charles and Robert; and her sisters, Phyllis, Wanda, and Carol. Blessed be her memory.
