Lucille “Lucy” Ann Flynn, 80, formerly of Paynesville and DeGraff, died on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock, Minnesota from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A private family Memorial Mass will take place at a later date. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Lucille “Lucy” Ann Flynn was born on July 29, 1944, in David City, Nebraska, the daughter of Anton and Frances (Patocka) Jindra. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith at St. Mary’s Church in David City. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1962. In 1965, Lucy was united in marriage to Donald Flynn in St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff, Minnesota.
Lucy cherished the times she spent with her family. She loved to cook and bake. Her kids loved her apple pie, chocolate crinkle, and snickerdoodle cookies. Her chicken dumpling soup was always a favorite. Lucy also enjoyed gardening and playing cards, especially Skip Bo and Phase 10. She loved beating everyone at Yahtzee.
Lucy spent the last two plus years living in Bethesda in Willmar, Minnesota. She passed peacefully to heaven on April 27, 2025. Lucy’s family would like to thank the Bethesda staff and CentraCare Hospice for the care given to her.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Don Flynn in 2018, her parents Anton and Frances Jindra, sisters: Marcella, Martha, Rose Marie, Celestine, Adeline, Rita, Antoinette, and Alice. She is survived by her children: Chris (Ed) Hanzel of Fremont, NE, Tina Flynn of Litchfield, MN, Tony (Christiane) Flynn of Clay Center, KS, Tom (Lori) Flynn of Tjunga, CA, Tim Flynn of Phoenix, AZ, Tricia (Dennis) Lang of Willmar, MN, Tammy (Dan) Pariseau of Hutchinson, MN, and Terry (Beth) Flynn of Sartell, MN; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Tony (Rita) Jindra; sisters Ann (Don) Martindale, Fran (Jack) Tully, and Patty Jindra; as well as other relatives and friends.
