Luke Reid Foslien

November 14, 1977 — December 16, 2023

Luke Foslien, 46, of Benson, passed away at his home Saturday, December 16, 2023. There will be a private burial followed by a public Celebration of Life for family and friends at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at McKinney’s on Southside in Benson, Minnesota.

Luke Reid Foslien was born November 14, 1977, to Reid and Barb (Krattenmaker) Foslien in Willmar, MN. He was baptized at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson November 27, 1977. He attended St. Francis Catholic School and Northside Elementary. He was confirmed in the spring of 1995 by Father Steve Verhelst and graduated from Benson High School in 1996. Luke attended Fergus Falls Community College and Granite Falls Technical School. He worked various jobs in the Minneapolis and Fargo area, and then moved back to Benson and began working at his father’s shop, Reid’s Welding and Custom Manufacturing. He worked there from September, 2012, until the time of his death.

Luke was loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time playing cards and games. He loved sports, especially golfing. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his nieces and nephews. Most weekends were reserved for at least 18 holes of golf on the Benson Golf Course and afternoons filled with watching sports and smoking meat with his Murdock friends.

Luke is survived by his parents Reid and Barb Foslien of Benson, and his brothers Jake (Missy) Foslien of Elbow Lake and Adam (Emily) Foslien of Benson, along with seven nieces and nephews: Halle, Mya, Josie, Jace, Maesa, Landry, and Paxton Foslien. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends: Craig Kavanagh and family, Jonas, Dan, Jimmy, Nick, and Beau.

Luke was preceded in death by his grandparents Lyle and Sylpha Foslien and Francis and Vera Krattenmaker, his aunt Ellenmae Foslien and cousin Steve Smith.
