Margaret Ann Bangsund Ellingson

Margaret Ann (Bangsund) Ellingson was born on July 2, 1928 on a farm in Swift County near Benson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Paul and Sarah (Halvorson) Razink. She was called from this life on November 20, 2020 at Avera-Marshall Regional Medical Center due to Covid 19 virus.

Margaret was baptized on July 15, 1928 in the Catholic Faith and later was confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on June 1, 1941. She grew up on a farm in Swift County and attended District 47, 81, and 84 in Danvers and attended Benson High School.

On September 29, 1945 she was married to Raymond Bangsund by Rev. M. G. Berg. Raymond passed away on March 6, 1994. On November 28, 1997 she was married to Orin Ellingson at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson by Pastor Olness. They enjoyed traveling many places together. Orin passed away on May 20, 2012. They were both members of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson.

Margaret enjoyed many years of farm life, lake living on weekends, and later she enjoyed living at Parkview Manor. Margaret loved people and she was a friend to many. She also enjoyed a small group of friends who gathered often. Margaret was so very proud of all of her family.

Margaret worked at various jobs in her lifetime but especially enjoyed her work at the Cloverlearf Club and Benson Golf Club. She was a lifetime member of the Benson VFW Auxillary Post#1403.

Margaret is survived by her four children, Rodney (Randi) Bangsund of Morris, Douglas (Patti) Bangsund of Benson, Kay (Greg) Nelson of rural Starbuck, and Lee (Debbie) Bangsund of Hinesburg, Vermont; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; one brother Delmer (Joan) Razink of Benson, and Orin’s children.  She is preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, one sister, two brothers, and one infant granddaughter.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Ambush Park in Benson. The service will start at noon followed by the lunch.
