Maria "Marichela" Graciela Ramirez de Lazaro de Ortecho, 92, passed away Sunday morning, December 13, at her home in Scandi Haven Village. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, December 17, at 11:00 am, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Interment will follow the service at the Benson City Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Maria "Marichela" Graciela Ramirez de Lazaro de Ortecho, 92, was born on November 16, 1928, in Lima Peru, the daughter of Manuel Emilio Ramirez Garcia and Graciela Enriqueta Cazeneuve de Ramirez. She grew up in Lima Peru and attended Belen Catholic School. She earned a Bachelor degree in the Arts.

On November 17, 1956 she was united in marriage to Jose Modesto Lazaro de Ortecho Arriola at Capilla Marconi – San Isidro – in Lima, Peru.  They made their home in Peru, Spain, and Minnesota. She was the founder of “Spirit tree Bonsai” and Bonsai Landscapes. She was a member of Club de Bonsai in Lima. She enjoyed Classical music, Flamenco, and Opera, Philosophy books, and all faith denominations and creeds. She loved planting gardens, doing landscapes of Bonsai, the ocean, and spending time with her family. She was called from this life on Sunday morning, December 13, at Scandi Haven Village in Benson.

She is survived by her children Maria Graciela of Benson, Jose Manuel of Lima, Peru, Maria Teresa and Wilbert Delgado of Florida, Veronica and Brent Johnson of Appleton, Rocio Bertha and Jose Luis Mazuela, of Madrid, Spain; ten grand children Andrea, Valeria, Rodrigo, Diego, Alonso, Markus, Derek, Michelle, Gabriel, and Gonzalo; a Brother Manuel Emilio Ramirez and his wife Alicia de la Riva  and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her Husband Jose in 2019, her father Manuel Emilio Ramirez Garcia, her Mother Graciela Enriqueta Maxima Cazeneuve (Muller – Koritovski) de Ramirez, her siblings, Javier, Anibal and  Maria Luisa Ramirez Cazeneuve.
