Michael Allen Fifield, 49, of Benson died on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Swift County Benson Hospital in Benson, Minnesota. Michael Allen Fifield, age 49, was born on January 24, 1973, in Oregon, the son of Charles Sr. and Dora Hinkley Fifield. He grew up in Oregon and graduated from Detroit High School in Detroit, Oregon, as valedictorian of his class of four.  Michael served in the United States Army, enlisting in 1991.   He then continued to Community College, studying computers.  Eventually he left Oregon and settled in Minnesota in 1998 with family in tow.  He moved permanently to Benson, Minnesota in 2005.

On March 12, 2010, Michael was united in marriage to Angela Dawn Peoples at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson.  He worked at Syngenta Seeds in Danvers and was co-owner operator of CM Rock Disc Jockey and Karaoke with his good friend Chad Pillatzki. He was a member of the Northern Lights Trails Snowmobile Club and the Humane Society of Swift County.  He volunteered for the Humane Society by helping to maintain Benson’s dog park, and by fostering pets. He liked music from all ages, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and he could fix anything.  He would help his children rebuild car engines and even snowmobiles.  Some people considered him a Jack-of- all trades or a do-it-yourselfer.  If he didn’t know how to do something he would learn how and teach others. He was a hard worker and would often work from dawn until well after dusk,  whether it be on a car, a sled or some household woods project.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  Many of his friends he considered to be his family, and some friends considered him to be a second father.  He liked everyone he met.  Mike’s fun disposition and great people skills are what many will treasure.  He was always willing to help people and can be considered a modern-day good Samaritan.   He died on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Swift County Benson Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He is survived by his wife Angela of Benson, his mother Dora and her husband John Rhea; his children Dillion Groebner of Castlewood, South Dakota; Branden Fifield of Benson; David Fifield of Benson; Audriana Fifield of Clara City; one grandson, Ezra Fischer; siblings Deborah Woods of Dallas, Oregon and Charles (Chuck) Fifield Jr. of Montevideo.   He is preceded in death by his father Charles Fifield Sr., his mother-in-law Lucinda Pieschke and his sister-in-law Katherine Tipton.  Blessed be his memory.
