Michael "Mic" Juhnke, 77, died on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, at the VFW Post #4955 in Appleton, with Military Honors at 3:30 pm. Burial will be held at a later date in the Lamberton Cemetery, Lamberton, MN.
Michael Jon Juhnke was born on August 24, 1944, in Springfield, Minnesota, the son of Wilbert ‘Bill” and Lotus June (Flaig) Juhnke. He grew up in Sanborn, Minnesota, graduating from Sanborn high School and attended Business school in Mankato, Minnesota. Mic served his country by enlisting in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On January 4, 1967, he was united in marriage to June Stowers in Wheeler Indiana. This union was blessed with three daughters.
Mic worked at Sanborn Elevator, for Benson Quinn in Sleepy Eye and in Owatonna, the Boyd Elevator, and the Redwood Falls Elevator before moving to Appleton, Minnesota where he was employed at Benson Quinn and then West-Con. He was a member of the Am Vets, Masons, and a volunteer fire fighter in Sanborn, Sleepy Eye, and Boyd. Mic enjoyed fishing, trips to the casino, and going to the VFW. He was called from this life on Friday afternoon, February 25, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mic attained the age of 77 years, 6 months, and 1 day.
He is survived by his ex-wife June Juhnke of Owatonna; daughters: ReNae Horak of Owatonna, Regina (Dale) Heiny of Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin, and Rachelle (Kevin) Miller of Owatonna; grandchildren: Jacob (Aschlee) Heiny, Ryan Horak, Samantha Heiny, Ross Heiny, Nyzyah Anderson, Donte Miller, India Miller, and Terell Miller; siblings: Stuart Juhnke of Sanborn, Sharon Gollmer of Granite Falls, and Marilyn Dillabough of Osakis; and several other relatives and friends.
Mic was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Lotus Juhnke; his stepmother, Charolotte Juhnke, son-in-law, Melvin Horak; and a nephew, Terry Dillabough.
