Nicole L. Peterson, 34, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the Appleton Hospital. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota, and will continue Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 pm, at the church. Zniewski Funeral Home, Benson, Minnesota is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Nicole Lynn Peterson was born on February 12, 1988, at the Benson Hospital in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Byron and Vicki (Payne) Olson. She was baptized on March 12, 1988, by Pastor Hippe at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. She was confirmed on May 25, 2003, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls, Minnesota by the pastor Pari Bailey. She grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 2006.
Nicole was united in marriage to Donald Peterson on May 18, 2013, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson by Pastor Gary Brandenburg. This union was blessed with over 9 years of marriage. Nicole worked for Clark’s drugstore, Swift County Homes, and as a cook for Benson Public Schools. Nicole enjoyed making crafts and baking, she was very proud of being a “self taught baker”. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she was so proud of her children's accomplishments. She was called from this life on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the Appleton Hospital in Appleton, Minnesota. She attained the age of 34 years, 7 months, and 6 days.
Nicole is survived by her husband Donald J. Peterson of Holloway; her children Aaron Duffy and Mckenna May; her parents Byron and Vicki Olson of Benson; her brother Nickolas (Casey) Olson of Benson; nephews and niece, Andrew, Leah, Troy Olson; uncles and aunts, Tamara (Mike) Thompson, Donald Olson, Solveig (Gordon) VanOverbeke, Kenneth (Bonnie) Olson, Larry (Val) Payne, Karen Olson, special cousin Kristina Bartscher, and several other cousins, relatives and friends too numerous to name. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Russell and LaBonna Payne, Alvin and Ingeborg Olson, uncles DeLos, Duane, David (Judy) Olson, aunt Tricia Olson, “Uncle” Marvin Zurn, her good friend Stacy Hammerschmidt, and other relatives. Blessed be her memory.
