Ramona Rosemeier, age 91, of Murdock, died Friday, January 26, 2024, at home in rural Murdock, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. The rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock, Minnesota. Ramona Rosemeier was born January 25, 1933, at home in Cleveland Township, Le Center, Minnesota, daughter of Joseph August Traxler and Rose Marie White Traxler. She was baptized January 29, 1933, by Fr. W. Jiracek at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center, Minnesota. She was confirmed by Archbishop John G. Murray at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center, Minnesota.
Ramona grew up in Le Center, Minnesota, graduating from Cleveland High School. She furthered her education at the University of Minnesota where she earned a Registered Nursing degree. She worked as a registered nurse for 40+ years at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota.
August 29, 1953, Ramona married Merlin Joseph Rosemeier at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center, Minnesota. Rev. Dennis Buckley officiated the ceremony. They lived in Murdock, Minnesota, and raised a family of nine children: Joseph, Gerard, Thomas, Dale, Charles, Albert, Timothy, Mary, and Anthony.
Ramona adored her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed drinking coffee all day, playing 500 rummy, solitaire, and other card games. She loved flowers, baking, making jams and jellies, and other canning, and liked sharing all of it.
Ramona is survived by her children: Joseph (Constance) Rosemeier of Murdock, MN, Gerard (Nancy) Rosemeier of New Prague, MN, Thomas (Dorothy) Rosemeier of DeGraff, MN, Dale (Kim) Rosemeier of Murdock, MN, Charles (Barbara) Rosemeier of Buckner, MO, Albert (Michele) Rosemeier of Murdock, MN, Timothy (Rose) Rosemeier of Ham Lake, MN, Mary Rosemeier (Bryan Wuerker) of Pocahontas, AR, and Anthony (Charlotte) Rosemeier of DeGraff, MN; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister Patricia Bell of Hopkins, MN.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Merlin Joseph Rosemeier, daughter-in-law Constance Rosemeier, and siblings: Catherine Hauch, Tommy Traxler, Joan Black, Rita Queen, Ted Traxler, Rosemary Wondra, and Harry Traxler.
