Renetta R. Lindstrom

Renetta Lindstrom, age 91, of Appleton, passed away Thursday evening, January 25, 2024, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Pastor John Ramsbacher will officiate. Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery.

Renetta “Nottie” Ruth Lindstrom was born June 25, 1932, daughter of Robert Gaulke and Helena Galow. On July 10, 1932, she was baptized at her home by Rev. Paul Greike. She was confirmed March 30, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, by Rev. Herman Faedtke.

Nottie grew up in the Holloway – Appleton area. She moved to Appleton after her father’s death and lived there the rest of her life, most recently living in the Apple Ridge Estates. She attended grade school in Holloway and high school through tenth grade in Appleton.

June 27, 1951, Nottie married Norton Warren Lindstrom at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, and raised two children: Jerry and Pam. She began working in various jobs at a young age. She worked at both Appleton bakeries, Fingerhut in Benson, was a waitress for many years at Corner Restaurant for Peg Randall and several other owners, and worked part time at her son-in-law’s video shop.

Nottie was a member of the Altar Guild and enjoyed being with her family. She also loved baking, embroidery, cross stitch, crossword puzzles, and was a ferocious reader of books.

Renetta is survived by her son Jerry (JoAnn) Lindstrom of Brooten, MN; three grandchildren: Jennifer Lindstrom, Eric (Kristin) Lindstrom, and Amanda (Nick) Wood; four great-grandchildren: Isabella, Kyla, Bryson, and Miles; brother-in-law Terry Lindstrom of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law: Sharon Lindstrom of Sioux Falls, SD, and Marilyn Hamsun of Montrose, SD; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Renetta was preceded in death by her husband Norton Lindstrom, daughter Pamela and son-in-law Philip Borstad; four brothers: Arthur (Molly) Gaulke, Leo Gaulke, Walter (Alice) Gaulke, and Arnold (Nadine) Gaulke; seven sisters: Alma (Paul) Bartz, Esther (Ervin) Bartz, Lydia (Martin) Schroeder, Bertha (Alfred) Schroeder, Lilly (Joe) Wrobleski, Clara (Donald) Shepard, and Evelyn (Harry) Schlieman.
