Richard L. Bonde, 71, of Benson, MN, died Sunday, February 09, 2020, at Swift County Benson Health Services. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, on Saturday February 29, at McKinneys on Southside in Benson, with a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm.

Richard Lee Bonde was born on November 11, 1948, in Ivanhoe, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Ione Widmark Bonde. He grew up in Ivanhoe and was confirmed at the Bethany – Elin Lutheran Church in Ivanhoe by the Rev. Richard D. Kallgren. He graduated from Ivanhoe High School, attended South Dakota State University in Brookings South Dakota, and earned his Bachelor Degree at the University of Minnesota. He served in the National Guard for six years.
He farmed in Watertown, Minnesota and in 1982 he moved to Benson, Minnesota. On June 11, 1986, Richard was united in marriage to Beverly King in Benson by Pastor Hippe. This union was blessed with over thirty three years of marriage. He worked as an Adult Finance Instructor. He semi-retired in 2010 and continued to do finance work part-time. He loved building things, especially wood working and spent many years doing custom work. He was a member of the NRA and collected guns. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, antiquing, playing cards, and camping. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was called from this life on Sunday morning at the Swift County Benson Hospital. He attained the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 29 days.
Richard is survived by his wife Beverly of Benson; his children Brigett (Ben) Richel, Mike (Laura) King, Annette (Brent) Gustafson, and Jason Bonde; four grandchildren Mike, Aiden, Brianna, and Alysa; and one great grandchild Claire; his siblings Mary (Bryan) Bonine of St. Charles, Missouri, Neil Bonde of Litchfield, Mike (Ardell) Bonde of South Dakota, and Leroy (Julie) Bonde of Canby; and several other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ione, his grandparents, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. Blessed be his memory.
