Roberta (Gustafson) Wrobleski, 91 years old, passed away Tuesday January 6, 2026, at Bethesda Nursing Home in Willmar, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson, Minnesota, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00p.m. Burial will be at the Benson City Cemetery.
Roberta Ann Wrobleski was born October 16, 1934, to Robert and Mabel Gustafson in Rockford Illinois. She was an only child and grew up in the Benson and Starbuck areas. Roberta was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson Minnesota. She attended Benson Elementary School through ninth grade. Roberta worked multiple jobs including Benson Produce, Fingerhut, Case IH, and Jennie-O Foods. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures and leaves behind a legacy of hard work and family.
Roberta married Leo Wrobleski on February 7, 1953, in Pope County. Their union was blessed with eight children. They divorced and parted ways. Roberta met her life partner Noble Sherman and lived in Danvers, Minnesota. Noble and Roberta traveled to North Dakota and surrounding areas in the summer. Noble bailed many loads of flax and Roberta cooked many meals and tended a huge garden. Her cooking was well-known, especially her fried chicken. After Noble’s death, Roberta moved to Arizona to be with her daughter until they returned to Minnesota. In later years, Roberta lived in Willmar until the time of her death. Roberta is known for always enjoying a HOT cup of coffee or a Budweiser with her grandson-in-law Lorenzo. She will be remembered for her smile and sense of humor.
Roberta is survived by her children: Jerry (Patty) Wrobleski of Willmar, MN; Leroy (Alice) Wrobleski of Heartland, MN; Joyce (Greg) Hanenburg of Edgerton, MN; and son-in-law Ed Kill of Benson, MN; grandchildren: Ed Jr, Chrissy, Laura, Aarron, Andrew, Danny, Ben, Dennis, Jennifer, Cody, Michael, Travis, Bradley, and Bobby; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Leo Wrobleski, partner Noble Sherman, son David Wrobleski, daughters Debbie Kill and Nancy Emmert, son-in-law Bob Emmert, grandson Jason Kill, and two sons in infancy.
