Shirley Lorraine Rand

Shirley Lorraine (Hendrickson) Rand, age 88, of DeGraff, MN passed away on Tuesday morning, May 26, 2020 surrounded by the caring Staff at Bethesda Willmar. A graveside burial will be held Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Murdock.

Born on March 26, 1932, into a large Finnish family in Embarrass, MN, she was the daughter of the late Gust and Josephina (Erickson) Hendrickson. She was baptized, confirmed and graduated high school in Embarrass.

On October 17, 1952 Shirley was united in marriage to Arthur Rand. She was a devoted farm wife and proud homemaker on the farm located near Murdock, MN where they raised their 2 boys.

She was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Murdock.

Shirley was a quiet lady with a loving heart. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, watching Minnesota Twins baseball, listening to polka music and the companionship of her pets.

She is survived by two sons; Jerome Lien and David Lien; 7 grandchildren, Dan Lien, Stacy (Mike) Otto, Jimmy Lien, Abby (Drew) Littleton, Art (Jordan) Lien, Neil (Kristina) Lien and Alyssa Lien; 9 great-grandchildren; Brother-in-law; Henry Rand and many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; Arthur, her parents; and 13 siblings.
