Stanley E Wilts

Stanley Wilts, age 92, of Appleton, passed away Sunday morning, January 7, 2024, in Appleton Area Health-Hospital. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Visitation will resume from 10 – 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, at the church. Pastor Linda Wimmer will officiate. Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery.

Stanley Eugene Wilts was born December 31, 1931, in Dublin Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the son of Tony Frederick and Ethel Louise (Lundberg) Wilts. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Stan attended school at Murdock, Big Stone Country School, and Appleton, through the Eighth Grade. On March 22, 1950, he was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Behrens. This union was blessed with nearly 28 years together and four children: Carol, Peggy, Debra, and Bob. Bev passed away February 2, 1978. On September 1, 1979, Stan married Mildred Janet (Christenson) Molden. Stan and Millie enjoyed over 34 years together until her passing on May 10, 2014.

Stan was a life-long farmer. He loved the land and took great pride in caring for his farm, his land, and his livestock. Stan enjoyed playing cards and BINGO. More than anything, he loved and cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Stan passed away January 7, 2024, in Appleton Area Health-Hospital. He attained 92 years and 7 days of age. Stan is survived by his children: Carol (John) Roessler, Debra Bursken, Bob (Tammy) Wilts, and Marlowe Molden; his son-in-law, Ed Hilbrand; his daughter-in-law, Gloria Molden; his grandchildren: Dianne Parker, Brenda (John) Bendix, Todd (Tania) Molden, David Berning (special friend, Dawn), Christopher Roessler, Candice (Marty) Flicek, Amanda Molden, Sarah Sprague, Becky (John) Lysen, Andrew (Ali) Molden, and Matthew (Kelly) Molden; his great-grandchildren: Tyrone, Thomas, Ethan, Darrick, Kaden, Jackson, Amelia, Christian, Gwynnie, Espyn, Addy, Signy, Trygve, Anthony, Issac, Leah, Dillon, Clara, Kaitlynn, Ella, Johnna, Cambrie, Colton, Dawson, Chace, Hunter, Grace, Xavier, Ezekiel, James, Elise, and Magnus; his sister, Gloria Giese; his sister-in-law, Darlene Wilts; and his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bev in 1978 and his wife Millie in 2014; his daughter Peggy Hilbrand in 1999; his son, Earl Molden in 2023; his grandson, Douglas Wilts; his granddaughter, Heidi Molden-Schuelke; his parents, Tony and Ethel Wilts; his parents in-law, William and Irene Behrens and Emil and Agnes Christenson; his brothers: Don (Eunice) Wilts and Chuck Wilts; and his brother-in-law, Charles Giese.
