Timothy Aaron Miller, lovingly known as “Milt,” was born on May 15, 1963 in Benson, Minnesota to Glen and Elaine Miller. He spent most of his childhood on the family farm in the De Graff/Benson area before moving into Benson during his teenage years. Milt graduated from Benson High School in 1981 and later attended Ridgewater College in Willmar, earning a degree in accounting in 1985.
Milt lived a life full of energy, humor, and friendship. He enjoyed many hobbies—bowling, golfing, playing softball, watching sports, and competing on his handheld Yahtzee and Monopoly games. Throughout his life, he worked a variety of jobs, from working in a mattress store to bartending, always bringing his outgoing personality wherever he went. For many of his years, you could find Milt running the Benson Bowler or bartending at the Benson Liquor Store. Known for being the life of the party, he could strike up a conversation with anyone and was often one of the first on the dance floor at any wedding he attended. For someone who claimed he wasn’t a “people person,” he certainly loved being around others and making them smile.
Milt welcomed his first daughter Meggan, in November 1988, and his second daughter Savannah, in January 1996. His daughters, along with his grandchildren, were the great joys of his life.
Milt was called from this life on November 16, 2025 at the age of 62. He is survived by his daughters Meggan (Patrick) Karels of Ortonville, MN, and Savannah Miller of Circle Pines, MN; grandchildren Charlie and Colton Karels and Legend Miller; siblings Steve (Linda) of Benson, MN, Dave (Darlene) of Sun Lakes, AZ, Sandy (Richard) of Benson, MN, Randy (Birdie) of Big Lake, MN, Darren (Heather) of Kerkhoven, MN, and LeAnn (Kevin) of Clara City, MN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Elaine Miller; sister Judy Tollefson; and nephews Dustin Tollefson and Joshua Ahrndt.
Milt will be deeply missed for his humor, easy going attitude, kindness, and the genuine joy he brought to those around him.
