Warren Aldo Reuss, 97, of Benson, died on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his home in Scandi Haven Village in Benson. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Trinity Fairfield Lutheran Church in Fairfield Township, Swift County, Minnesota, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial in the Trinity Fairfield Church Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
Warren Aldo Reuss was born July 2, 1926, son of Edwin Henry Reuss and Evelyn Zick, in Long Lake, Minnesota. He was confirmed at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Danvers, Minnesota, by Rev. Fadtke.
Warren grew up on a farm north of Danvers, Minnesota. He attended District 81 Country School through eighth grade. June 11, 1950, he married Shirley Loretta Stoehr, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Shible Township. Together they raised three children: Lucinda, Dale, and David.
Warren farmed north of Danvers until retiring in 1990. He worked part-time at Runnings in Benson and did maintenance work at an apartment building. As a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Danvers, Warren was a member of the Church Council, serving as treasurer and co-chairman. At his passing, he was a member of Trinity Fairfield Lutheran Church in rural Holloway. Warren enjoyed going to auctions, woodworking, bowling, playing cards, playing solitaire on the computer, and listening to music.
A World War II veteran, Warren served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947.
Warren is survived by his children: Lucinda (Kyle) Stone of Brooten, MN, Dale (Melody) Reuss of Danvers, MN, and David (Su) Reuss of Huntington Beach, CA; seven grandchildren: Leighton, Barbara, Darrin (Jessica), Michaela (Sam), Molly (Jon), Charlene, and Emily; eight great-grandchildren: Cody, Alayla, Bailey, Cecelia, Quinn, Gabriel, Greyson, and Lincoln; sisters: Marlyn Nelson of New Hope, MN, and Sandra French of South Lake Tahoe, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
Warren was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Reuss; parents Edwin and Evelyn Reuss; brother LeRoy Reuss; and sisters Deloris Allen and Phyllis Shannon.
