Warren Otto Sachs

Warren Sachs, age 94, of Appleton, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in Appleton Area Health- Care Center.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2022, in Appleton City Cemetery.  Vicar Sara Larson will officiate.  All guests are asked to please bring a lawn chair.

Warren Otto Sachs was born September 21, 1927, on the home farm near Holloway, Minnesota, the son of Otto Fridrik and Martha Matilda (Heldt) Sachs.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church.  Warren was raised in the Holloway and Appleton area, where he attended country school through the eighth grade.  In 1946 Warren was united in marriage to Arlene Pearl Cutt.  This union was blessed with four children: Gail, Steve, Tammy, and Tim.  On September 16, 2002, Warren was united in marriage to Rosella Witte.

During his working years Warren was a long-time foreman for Minnesota Valley, where he drove truck for road construction.  He also farmed and raised horses…which was his passion!  Warren enjoyed attending auctions, where he would buy and sell many tractors over the years.  He like to listen to country music and spend time with his family and friends.

Warren passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center.  He attained 94 years, 5 months, and 25 days of age.  Warren is survived by his children: Gail Brekke of Moorhead, Tammy (Alan) Dittman of Prescott, WI, and Tim (Heidi) Sachs of Minneapolis; his 11 grandchildren: Janelle Clark, Heidi Clark, Chad Sachs, Amy (Curry) Sandven, Jamie (Maren) Hirman, Jeremiah (Jessica) Hirman, Cody (Ashley) Lentz, Brandon (Emily) Lentz, Hayley (Tyler) Mann, Gage (Holli) Sachs, and Madison (Sean) Sachs; his 20 great-grandchildren: Kyle, Cole, McKenzie, Channing, Easton, Georgiana, Amelia, Brock, Aubrey, Deion, Dylan, Hannah, Aubrey, Olivia, Iyla, Bexlee, Mallory, Arthur, Clifford, and Hazel; and his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella (Witte) Sachs in 2002; his parents, Otto and Martha Sachs; his son, Steve Sachs; grandson, Ben Sachs; son-in-law, Jim Brekke; grandson-in-law, Brian Ripperger; and his brother, Virgil (Jeanette) Sachs.

Warren’s family would like to thank the Doctors, Nursing staff, and Hospice for the great care that he received since entering the nursing home in 2018…THANK YOU!
