Lana Louise (Turner) Mctighe

Lana (Turner) McTighe, age 68, of Appleton, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Word Fellowship Church in Appleton. Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery.

Lana Louise McTighe was born April 22, 1955, in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of Anthony and Deloris (Schlieman) Turner. She was raised on the home farm near Appleton. Lana attended school in Appleton, and later attained her GED at the age of 40, fulfilling a promise she had made to her children. She was united in marriage to Thomas Dewayne McTighe on June 16, 1979, in Milbank, SD. This union was blessed with 22 years together. The couple made their home in Correll, where they raised their family.

Lana worked with Tom for the Tweeten Family during potato harvest…he would drive truck and she would operate the weigh scales. She loved playing Bingo with Tom, searching sale sites on Facebook, fishing, and playing Yahtzee. More than anything, she adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Lana passed away May 16, 2023, in Appleton Area Health-Care Center. She attained 68 years and 24 days of age. Lana is survived by her five children: Jeanie Briggs (Jason Brotzel) of St. Cloud, Tammy McTighe of Madison, Julie Steuck (Christopher) of Brandon, Jamie (Terra) McTighe of Odessa, Shawn (Amanda) McTighe of Correll; her five step-children: Rhonda, Thomas, Mike, Dennis, and Melodie; her 15 grandchildren: Anthony Julius Schmidt, Hailee Nikole Schmidt, Alexis Lainey Schmidt, Katie Louise Torke, Seth Thomas Torke, Maci Kay Torke, Destiny Lee Steuck, Kylee Alyssa Jayden Lawver, Duke Thomas Manx McTighe, Kenna Jo McTighe, Sophia Leah McTighe, Tyler Thomas McTighe, Jerika Eppel, Teil Eppel; her  two great-grandchildren: Landon Thomas Paul Geis and Octavia Nikole Fernstrom; her sister, Lynn Hedin of Shakopee; her brother, Robert (Rita) Turner of Appleton; and her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas McTighe in 2001; her parents, Anthony and Deloris Turner; her brother, Ray Turner; and her granddaughter, Katilen Myers McTighe.
